Cancer for the old?
I always thot cancer affects only the old but the real truth slam into my face when i was 25yo and I witness for myself a friend who died of cancer when he was only 26yo. Leukemia, was the name of the cancer to be exact. Impossible? We always thot these were some stories we hear off but never really happen, but it did and it slam into my face.
He fainted while at work and he was serving out his notice of resignation as he was preparing to go to UK to do his MBA in 2 weeks time. A young banker, further studies at prestigious LSE with a promising future but it was not be be. From the time he fainted, he only stayed in the hospital for les than 3 weeks and he was gone.
I remembered that day vividly. We were in church and the pastor recieved an urgent message to ask the congregation to pray as doctors said they were losing him. We prayed hard. 30 minutes later, we got the message that he left to be with the Lord. Sobs were heard throughout the church. what made it worst was that he was the only son, only child. We wondered how the parents will take it.
Cancer for the old? think again. take a walk into a children hospital and ask for the cancer ward and you will know the truth. it hits us at all ages and thats what makes cancer more scary that the next dreaded disease called Heart Attack or Cardiac Arrest. The fear and emotional strained found in the word cancer can be unnerving yet many of us chose to avoid the topic thinking that ignorance is bliss. Well, its not. In fact knowledge is power and knowing something abt it can help you prevent or even cure cancer, only if you knew how. You can and I will post up articles and resources that i find in my quest to ensure all have a cancer-free life. (see my links). If you have some cacner stories to share of others or of your own experience, just email me and i will post it up for you and give you the credits too.
